Tls Events Launches Rother Valley Series 2017 in Support of Help for Heroes

Posted: 14 January 2017

TLS Events has launched its the Rother Valley Series, a trio of sporting events set to test even the most toughest athletes, in support of Help For Heroes, its Charity Of The Year for 2017

Explains Caroline Sheppard, events manager for TLS Events: “Due to the number of ex-military who work for our sister company, Traffic Labour Supplies Ltd, we have chosen Help for Heroes as our Charity Of The Year for 2017.  A number of activities are planned for next year and, the highlights are a series of challenging events aimed at international and age-group athletes to compete alongside  serving, injured or retired armed forces personnel at the same time as showcasing the Help For Heroes charity.

“The first event, a Duathlon, will take place on Sunday 26th February 2017 and is the ideal early season standard and sprint distance duathlon for anyone wanting to add to their winter training miles and grab a podium position in the process.”

“Next up will be the Triathlon, the main event in the Series calendar. On Sunday 4th June 2017, triathletes can take to the Rother Valley Country Park lake and surrounding roads and paths for a repeat of last year’s hugely successful standard and sprint distance triathlon.

“Finally, on Sunday 29th October 2017, we hit the trails for the Off-Road Duathlon. There are some fantastic trails around the Park with plenty of surprise hills so this will be a real test for both experienced and novice duathletes alike.”

Tony Eaton BCAv, Regional Manager North East for Help for Heroes Said “Help for Heroes offers direct, practical support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses while serving our country.  Thanks to money raised by the generous British public, Help for Heroes provides comprehensive tailored support, from psychological wellbeing and sports recovery to financial grants and career support. Thousands of Heroes and their loved ones are dealing every day with increasingly complicated physical and psychological conditions. They will continue to need our support as they rebuild their lives. That is why events such as the Help For Heroes Rother Valley Series are a great way to both showcase the charity and encourage & motivate our Heroes to compete.”

Concludes Caroline: Each event is set to be a fantastic day out for athletes and their friends and families alike and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Rother Valley Country Park over the coming race season.”
